Dear Mr. Zak, I received the diamond last Saturday. It is lovely! I took it to Nordstrom and had the diamond checked against the certificate. They have a very similar stone( F,VS1, 1.23 cts) asking for $9900 (!) and it is does not show as much fire as yours. I had go to second store before they can find the feather. It [wa]s definetely not viewable with the plastic wrap on. I will have it appraised and have it set on a mounting very soon. It is also very kind of Mr. Jacob Reichmann to follow up with the purchase. It will even be better if the delivery can be experdited. I am not in a hurry to get married since it is my 10th anniversary. It may not hold true for other buyers. Besides, the longer the wait, the more suspicision people will have regarding the company. Shopping such a big $ item on the net is risky. The whole experience in buying a stone locally was a disaster. Actually I plan to write a small article to send to the largest Chinese Newspaper in U.S. (World Journal) about the experience. Of course I would name each store A,B,C.. to avoid being sued. The highlight of this is that I once twisted off one setting by just rubbing the stone since it was very dirty. It happened in a very BIG MALL, the largest in S[name kept w. vd] area.This is the most "interesting" thing that occured other than my job. I also appreciate your approach in respecting people's privacy. Although I like reading email testimonials to check out on companies, seeing my own name in it is a different matter. Dear Mr. Zak: Well, I am pleased to say that I received the diamond yesterday evening and had it appraised and laser fingerprinted this morning and everything has turned out perfectly. The appraiser (an Independent, highly professional Lab) was exceedingly impressed at the quality and value that I have received. He actually thinks the price was below wholesale due to the fact that the actual weight was .703! Although the dimensions indicate it should be .69, he explained the thickness of the girdle probably accounts for the .703 reading on his hi- tech precision scale .(I thought you might be interested in that little tidbit). Anyway, I must stress that I have been thoroughly impressed throughout my dealings with Van Daaz. Even being a seasoned internet programmer myself, I still had some anxiety over endeavoring in such an important purchase on- line. But your established record and professionalism won me over and I am very pleased with the whole experience. I will be sure to recommend you to anyone thinking about buying a stone and I also intend to put a glowing recommendation on the PublicEye site ( I noticed you had none when I was investigating your credentials). ***** NOTES from Larry M. The package arrived and was opened at a local jeweler for review of the contents. All is fine. Looks great. The jeweler did ask why I purchased by mail (he didn't know it was internet). He was more surprised with the risk than objecting to the competition. We viewed the stone under the scope and at 40x magnification and found the markings indicated on the certificate. According to the jeweler, the price would be roughly $6,000 to $6,500. I told him what I paid and he agreed it was a good price. Now to find a setting. I looked in the web address you provided and like the rings. I am also looking locally. In any case, I am very happy with your service and the quick and accurate response you provided throughout this process. It works just like you say it does.
